Aussie Scrap Source Shares :)

Helloooo my lovely blog readers!!!  I have a few shares today that have popped up over on the Aussie Scrap Source blog over the past month or so!   Each week we were focusing on one trend at a time.

First up are some cards I made with the Studio Calico Atlantic collection.  Here I was focusing on Brads and Enamel dots.

Second collection today is using the Glitz collection Finnley.  This time focusing on the Ephemera.
This little man was so very proud to earn his first ribbon on sports day!!

"Second Place"

Another project using the same collection.  I created a set of canvases.
Just love this alphabet card!!!!

Lastly today I got to play with the gorgeous Dear Lizzy collection "Polka Dot Party"!!
This week the focus was on Wood Veneer.  I covered all my wood veneer with chunky gold glitter :)  I really enjoyed these wood pieces as they are larger than your usual wood veneer.  The colours of this collection are gorgeous, right on trend!!  Really adore this layout.

Maja Designs

Hi!!!!  My first layout to share today is using the collection Vintage Summer Basics.   I opted to create something girly for a change.  I love that these collections cater for everyone!!  This is my sweet little niece who just turned 4 back in August.  She had her face painted at her party and I snapped this adorable picture of her.  These papers are gorgeous, fit for any little princess.

"4"

These butterflies are from 2 Crafty chipboard, they are gorgeous!!

Pretty Prima flowers and trinkets.

Here I would like to share a really quick run down on my process for this layout.  I started out with my background paper and scraped some Gesso on it to whitewash the flower print.  I did this only on the section were I planned my embellishments to go.  I didn’t want to cover too much of the print as it is so stunning!

Using a mask and texture paste I applied the mask down the centre of the page.  Then I sprayed some Shimmerz mists to the masked area. Also taking the lid off to add flickers of paint.

I then applied my photo mat to the centre of my page.  I distressed coordinating papers at different sizes and layered them along with some calico material and string/twine.

My next layers consisted of some transparency and then I used foam tape to attach the photo to the centre.  Once this was in place it was then ready to embellish with all of the pretty flowers and trinkets.

My second project today is a Mini Wishing Well.  I asked my best friend what she would like for her birthday and she said “Make me something”!!  So this is what I come up with………now to get it all the way over the other side of the country!!

I have also used the Vintage Summer Basic collection.  This time using the blue and grey papers.  I just loved this weatherboard paper and it was a perfect fit with this wishing well!
I just cut the papers to fit the sides and adhered.  I then used some texture paste and paint to add some colour to the grey.

My third creation today is a layout featuring the collection "It's Christmas Time"

I chose to create with a red, white and gold colour palette.  I picked out a cute pic of the boys from our 2012 Christmas shoot…….it’s almost time to do it all again!!!  I really enjoyed working with this Christmas collection, it’s subtle, gorgeous and truly festive!

"Love & Joy"

Just some closeups of the details for you:

Lots of glitter, sequins and Shimmerz were added.

I hope you have enjoyed my Maja creations, I have one more post going up on the Maja blog this weekend.
Have a great day, thanks for visiting xo

Adorable

Happy Friday all!!!  The weekend is almost here :)  I have a big one this weekend!  I am doing a photography course for 2 full days!  So excited to finally learn some things about my awesome camera......to use it to it's full potential, well as much as I can learn in 2 days anyway....lol!!!  Wish me luck, think I might need it!!!

I have a new, fun, cute creation to share today!  Well I actually created it about 3 weeks ago but just getting to share it now!  I absolutely love this one.  I have a little addiction with gold at the moment and I think it started from here :)

A mixture of things once again!  The background paper is Sassafrass, I almost didn't want to use it because I didn't want it to be gone but I am slowly getting over my tendency to hoard things!  A bit of Crate Paper and Studio Calico 'Hey Day' paper.

"Adorable"

I have used the feather chipboards from 2Crafty chipboard.  My gosh these are just stunning!  So delicate and gorgeous!  Of course had to add in some gold glitter to them.  This glitter is from American Crafts, it's the Wow Chunky Glitter..........gorgeous, think I will need to get a second one of these soon so I don't run out :)

I have used a stencil here from The Crafters Workshop.   It's a 6 x 6 mini Pie Chart and it's adorable! I applied some texture paste to the stencil and then spraying with my Shimmerz allowing it to run down my page.  I then highlighted the word Love with a white gel pen.

I also used a spotty stencil and then glued down the chunky glitter on top of some of the dots.

So lots of layers here again and Shimmerz.  Loving the pastel palette.

I hope you like my layout today!  I will be back to share more Maja Design guest projects soon.  Have a great weekend!!
Thinking of you all down south who are effected by the fires.  Stay safe xo

Here is my background before my embellishments went on.  I always apply some Gesso to my background paper first.  Then using a mask I apply some Modelling paste.  I generally DON'T allow anything to dry and proceed to spray my mists.
